Subject: Happy Monday!

Hello, Michele!

That’s an oxymoron isn’t it: Happy Monday?

I’m trying the "Tiki Lounge" e-stationary - let me know how the message looks!

How was your weekend? I worked both days for a few hours. I overcame the lazies (Yay!) and studied for my upcoming test (this Wednesday).

At work, we have moved into our new office location - have I mentioned how nice the view is here? Did I mention the lush landscaping, tall trees, and active local wildlife? It is so beautiful!

You are absolutely right that if a guy is handsome *and* nice, it’s pretty certain that he’s married. I can definitely relate to all the guys you meet at work are taken! And they are SO OFTEN the smiley and flirty ones, and I also want to angrily demand, "Just who do you think you are?!" I’d hate to think of my hypothetical husband acting like that with other women!

No, I’ve never seen the Exorcist precisely because I heard that it is "the scariest movie ever." Even if I saw it in a crowded theatre, I’d be the one screaming and hiding my eyes with my hands. (I’m not exaggerating!) It seems like the other people in the theatre are blandly sitting there watching the movie - I feel rather conspicuous. I was proud of myself when I went to see Valentine. (David’s movie) I sat pretty calmly and managed to discretely close my eyes during the worst of it so hopefully no one noticed.

I would like to see Shrek and Moulin Rouge also, but first - of course - the Mummy Returns! I also have not placed Pearl Harbor high on my Must See list, because it looked so gray and dark in the previews! Have you seen Miss Congeniality? I heard that it was on video, and I think it looks pretty good.

Yes, I still live at home. So does Sara. I know what you mean about moving out being expensive. I was a co-op student for a year and a half, where I would alternate a semester of school with a semester of work in my field of study. To do that, I had to move EVERY OTHER SEMESTER to ***** which is about three hours away. I had an apartment which I was luckily able to share with my fellow co-op - we would swap turns going there. It was so expensive - I had a whole new respect for my parents paying for me all those years! Still, one of my big dreams has always been to buy a house of my own. I will probably need to wait until I’m practically done with school. I was a bit unhappy about that, then I thought, "Why should I go in debt now just to be alone?" I’m working on stockpiling household goods, furniture, etc.

Getting a book published sounds a lot like trying to find a good job, where they want people with experience but you can’t have experience if they won’t hire you! You said it right - you have to be patient, persistent and praying. I will add this situation to my prayer list as well! I’ll tell you like I told my mother when she was job hunting. "Look at it like I look at all of my failed dating relationships: if it was the one for me it would have worked out. You might as well be patient and wait for the right one." I think I’ve told you before that I truly believe that everything goes according to God’s plan. Still, I’m sure the whole situation is extremely frustrating! (As I recall my mother didn’t find much comfort in my advice …)

I’d love to see a picture of you too, if you could get one! I have access to a scanner at [school], but I don’t have any pictures that I want people to see! I recently bought a digital camera - a cheaper one for about $40 from WalMart. I am planning to get my hair trimmed and styled on Friday for our Single Adult Sunday School class outing. While my hair is styled I plan to take plenty of digital pictures, so in at least one of them (surely) I’ll look presentable! I’ll send you a couple. I’ll also post some on my web site *if* they are exceptional!

I can give you a description of myself: I’m about 5′6" with gray blue eyes and brown hair that looks red when I stand in the sun. I’m very pale, but I have accepted that! I don’t usually weigh myself either, but I’m pretty happy with my body! I exercise just about every day because it really does make me feel better! When I was living out of town, I had cable and taped many episodes of Denise Austin’s Daily Workout. I still exercise with those tapes; Denise is the best!

I LOVE Rebecca St. James’ songs! Doesn’t she sing that song "Listen"? That came on the radio station as I was driving one day, and I had a mini-worship experience right there in the car! I would really love to sing that song at church, but I don’t know if I could do it justice! What are some of Cindy Morgan’s songs? I know I’ve heard of her, but I can’t recall any of her songs at the moment.

I have to go, but I’ll talk to you soon! God bless! Have a great day!
Anne
