Subject: on this last weekend of June …
Hi Anne!
Hope you are having (have/had) a good weekend. I was off work today (Friday) and around 11 am Nora called on the answering machine. I thought ‘oh, crap! I hope she doesn’t want me to work tonight!’ As it turns out she asked me if I wanted an extra day off next week. Sure! On the one hand I need the money, yet I do want to relax more!
Speaking of inventories at ***** stores, we just had ours this past Tuesday. Yep, it was *****. What does that stand for, anyway.
I thought you would like my idea for the Arnold Vosloo channel. At least you’re lucky enough to have Angel say "Anne". As far as I know, Arnold never said "michele".
Re: the Angel website: how do you "borrow" images from other sites? I admit that I’m a total retard when it comes to computers. I thought about starting my own web page (like yours). I just really haven’t had the time to put everything together. Yep, its that blasted procrastination again! I like the names you suggested for the Arnold Vosloo page! I would suggest a few myself but my mind is totally blank right now!
Did you get the link I sent you about the celebrity Christians? The site is www.peoplejustlikeus.org Its a really cool website. Check it out sometime.
There are two other qualities that I find attractive in a man. I’m specifically thinking about my future husband. First of all there will be no doubt that he will be a Christian. And I’m not just talking about a "going through the motions" Christian. I’m talking about a "real relationship with God" kind of christian. I want God to be the most important thing in my future husband’s life. But sometimes I wonder- if I meet someone, how do I know he is a Christian? Do I say "Hi. Are you a Christian?" I mean you could be a nice person and not be a Christian, so how do you know? Well, I will know the second I meet my husband. He will radiate Christ’s love and there won’t even be a question about it. He wont’t be standing on a street corner, preaching the Bible, he won’t be wearing a tee-shirt that says "Smile! Jesus loves you!" But I will just know. I don’t know how I’ll know, but I’ll know. The second quality is I want and need a man who is comfortable with his sexuality (have I talked about this before?) but he is modest. A man who once we are man and wife will not be ashamed or embarrassed of his sexuality. I want our sex life to be ….well, to be magical! I want a man to want me with his entire being but will respect me. I want him to be able to reassure me and be comfortable enough to take the lead, before and after marriage. I’ll use Harry as an example. When I was anticipating my first (and only!) date with him, I was actually practically freaking out thinking how would I handle it if he were to get … um, excited (if you know what I mean!). I know him and He most likely would have been extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable and his uncomfortableness would have made me feel uncomfortable. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I didn’t run into that "problem". I know at some point in my life (before I get married) I’ll have to deal with this. I mean, a want my future husband to be turned on by me and who am I to dis bodily functions? I mean, certain things happen to my body when I look at Arnold Vosloo, and I have no control over it. I want and need a man who will be comfortable, even humorous about the situation. Respectful yet sensual about it. The more comfortable a man will be, the more comfortable I will be. I know a man can’t control how his body reacts sexually (just as I can’t) but we can control our actions, and I want and need a man who is intelligent and moral enough to know the difference. I mean, just because the jewelry case is open and the security guard is looking the other way, it still isn’t right to take the necklace unless you paid for it (my colorful analogies again!).
I hope I haven’t made you uncomfortable talking so openly about sex. I just feel like we’re on the same wavelength (that separated at birth thing again!).
You’re so right when you said it’s easier said than done about being comfortable with yourself. My self-esteem goes up and down all the time! Some days I think "I’m a short, fat, frizzy-haired, oily skinned freak! No wonder I don’t have a boyfriend!" And other days I think "Looking foxy, girl! I’m a sensual, curvy goddess and every man wants me, but who’s says I want them?" Please don’t think I’m stuck on myself! Most of the time I’m in the middle thinking, "I probably won’t win any beauty pageants, but at least I won’t scare the rats away, either." When people compliment me, I really do appreciate it.
Kevin and Pam sound like a great couple. Some people have the misconception that married christians have boring sex lives. SO UNTRUE! I read once that some magazine (I think it was Ladies Home Journal) did a sex survey , and you know who had the most satisfying sex lives? Brace yourself! Married people who’ve had five or less sexual partners and who consider themselves "deeply religious!" Of course! I mean, when you are with someone you love and completely trust and not worried that he’s going to dump you the next morning and you feel totally comfortable with that person and comfortable knowing its totally ok with God, you can just let go and enjoy everything! Do you know if Kevin and Pam were virgins? How old are they?
I saw an advertisement for a new movie that’s coming out in August. Its called The Princesses Diaries. It looks really cute. I enjoy family movies. Danielle and I saw Spy Kids earlier this year and I really liked it.
Did you know that Arnold Vosloo would love to star in a romantic comedy? I think he would be so cute in one! The question is: who would be his co-star? Any suggestions?
how bout me? (lol). I would at least audition for it. I would have to kiss him for the audition and after the casting director would say "ok, you can stop now," Arnie and I will still be kissing!
here are my answers and a few new questions!
coffee drinker- yes. lots of cream and lots of sugar! But it has to be decaf. I’m nervous enough as it is without any added caffeine!
tea drinker- yes. I especially love flavored teas (kiwi-strawberry is my favorite). A little home remedy tip- peppermint tea works wonders for a sore throat!
What features would my dream house have?- That’s an excellent question! I never really thought about it (however I’m sure you have!) Its not so much the house, but where it is located. In a quiet clearing of a forest glen, surrounded by trees and a babbling brook in the back of it. Think a Thomas Kinkade painting Your idea of a private courtyard with a fountain sounds lovely. I know I would want it to be furnished in a "victorian" style. Canopy beds, hardwood floors, lots of knick knacks on shelves and lots of photos on the walls. I would want my house to look like a home and not like a cold, impersonal museum.
how old was I when I found out there was no Santa?- I think I was about seven or eight. No one told me anything, I just figured it out on my own. I wasn’t too devastated. I figured "as long as there’s presents under the tree I really don’t care who gave them to me!"
what super power would I like to have?- The ability to make myself invisible! Could you imagine all the fun I could have? (lol)
what jobs do my family members have?- My dad is a salesman for ***** (they sell plumbing and bathroom fixtures), my mom works at ***** at ***** , and Danielle is a front desk clerk at the *****
do I have plans for the fourth?- I’m working until five, then when I get home we’ll probably have a cook out
New questions
how close are you with your mom? Do you ever fight?- I’m pretty close with my mom, although we do tend to get into our tiffs every now and then. I just get really annoyed with her sometimes. I mean, she just can’t grasp the fact that I want to trust God completely with my love life. Her answers are pretty cut and dry. She’ll say things like, "you don’t go out enough" I’m thinking "Mom, I don’t want a solution! I just want you to listen to me and tell me everything’s going to be ok!" It also sometimes annoys me the way she babies me at times. But on the whole, we have a pretty good relationship.
how about your sister?- Danielle and I are very close. She’s my best friend. I can tell her anything. However we still get into it from time to time. Sometimes she can really annoy me, but it doesn’t last long. We can be fighting about something stupid, then we’ll both apologize and five minutes later we’ll be laughing about it.
if you had to live the rest of your life wearing either dresses or jeans/pants which would you choose?- dresses
your boyfriend tells you he has a secret that could very well destroy your relationship. Would you want to know?- yes, because we’re at the point where we can either work through the problem or go our separate ways. It would be harder to part if we were married. And secrets always have a way of coming out!
what would be the single most devastating thing that could happen in your life right now- If Danielle died
what’s your take on abortion? I am pro-life but I’m not one of those "wacky religious freak" type pro-lifers. I think bombing abortion clinics is totally wrong. I’m not going to tell a woman she can’t have one, although I never would. I don’t think reversing roe vs wade is going to solve anything, because no matter what, there will still be abortions. I think the answer lies in our hearts. Deep in my heart I know it’s wrong. I guess in a way I am pro-choice. A woman has a choice whether or not to sleep with someone. She has a choice whether or not to use birth control. There are things she can do before she has to make the choice whether or not to have an abortion.
ok, for a million dollars, would you jump into a lake (or a river ) in the middle of winter? (you’re only wearing your bathing suit and you have to stay in the water for at least ten minutes!)- if I don’t catch pneumonia I would!
do you or have you ever have any strange obsessions?- Ok, you’re going to think I’m really weird, but when I was in eighth grade I was obsessed with the movie The Exorcist! I could of watched it alone at night. Go figure, now it scares the crap out of me. I think the reason why I was so obsessed by it was because I thought Linda Blair was really pretty (before she became possessed, mind you!). I was also very analytical about it then, thinking how cool the special effects were in it and all. Yes, I was one very strange child! I think the reason why it scares me so much now is because i understand it more. Then it was a "fiction movie", Now I know that Satan is real and he is evil . I also know that God is real and He can kick Satan’s ass any day!
If you could take a pill that would eliminate your need for sleep would you take it?- no. I like to sleep. I like to dream.
what was the last cd you bought?- The Shrek soundtrack
what was the last video you bought- What lies beneath
ok, think about all the sitcoms you have watched. Right off the top of your head can you think of a scene in one of them that you roll on the floor laughing at no matter how many times you watch it?- I have tons, but this was the first one I thought of: Its a episode of Growing Pains where Mike lands a role in a police-type drama. I think he plays a cop who gets shot down. Anyway when the episode airs, they like, totally cut all his lines and all they show is him giving a pathetic cough and dying. Then when the credits of the show roll it says "coughing boy- Michael Weaver". I laugh just thinking about it!!
do you wear glasses and/or contact lenses?- yes. I wear my contacts most of the time, but sometimes I’ll wear my glasses.
New section! Recommendations!
In this section, we will recommend one movie, one tv show and one cd/tapes. The tv show doesn’t have to be a current one (same with the movies and the cds). This will be another chance for us to get to know each other
movie- Beetlejuice
tv show- The Golden Girls
cd- The Mask and The Mirror (Loreena Mckennitt)
I was also thinking about that question about the scene in the sitcom. LIke I said, I have so many. Maybe we can give each one each time we e-mail each other! I think that would be really fun! We can do scenes from movies too!
Talk to you soon! Take care and God bless!
Michele
