Subject: Two great minds with a single thought!
Hello, Michele!
Once again we are *so* on the same wavelength! When I read your paragraph on "confidence" I gasped because when I’m in a non-confident mood, I call myself a "pale, big-nosed, square-faced, frizzy-haired freak." Then, like you said, some days it’s like, "I’m sorry, but I am FINE!" (I like those days much better!) But that’s just the thing: perception! If we can perceive ourselves as good-looking and act accordingly people will find it attractive. Again - some days are better than others!
*****: "*****." I’m so glad that the next gig I have scheduled with them is Sunday evening at 6 pm - I’ve had it up to here with them. I’ve got to remember not to work so many days in a row. By the end of them I’m cranky and can’t concentrate worth a flip!
I did check out that site - People Just Like Us - and it looks great! I’m going to add a link to that site on my Praise Page! I saw they have a link to a Pray for Hollywood site - that has been a real prayer concern of mine: the salvation of all of the actors, singers, etc. that I think of highly.
To answer your question: To save a picture from another site, you can right click on the picture and choose the "Save Picture As" option. That will let you choose the folder (like My Documents) and the name that you want to assign to the picture. If you want to start a webpage, yahoo (and other sites like Angelfire) have some forms where you can type in the info and it will put it all in a nice form for you.
This talk of websites reminds me: you signed my guestbook!! YAY!! So you saw my pics: tell me, would I not look great on David’s arm? (Or just on David? Did I just write that?) Like I said, I’m not very photogenic, but I thought those pics were okay. My cheap digital camera isn’t working out as well as I hoped. It doesn’t have a flash so the lighting has to be really good or there are weird shadows.
Oh, yes, my future Mr. Wonderful will have to be a Christian also! Like you said, and not just a talker about it either!
Nah, I am not uncomfortable when we write about sex. Heck, it’s nice to have someone to talk to about these things! (I can’t exactly discuss lust with my mother, and my sister gasps, "ANNE!" if I ever make even a joking(?) comment about anything sexual like "oh, yes, he could use me and abuse me.." ) And I know what you mean about the body having reactions when you see a man like Arnold or David B: that is exactly what I was talking about before about wanting to date a guy that I feel like that about. Why should we settle for less? Like Otown sings, "I want it all … or nothing at all."
I was VERY glad to read that "deeply religious" married couples usually have the best sex lives! (Talk about a subject that doesn’t come up at church!) It really makes sense that people in relationships like that can be free to enjoy all aspects of it. I mean, there’s mutual love, respect, commitment - it sounds wonderful! It’s another case of waiting to get the best that God has for us. I don’t know if Kevin and Pam (both now in their late 30’s) were virgins when they got married the first times: they were both divorced once before they married each other. I was going to write that I oddly find that encouraging; it’s like that saying about God wanting us to meet a few wrong people before we meet the right one.
New questions
how close are you with your mom? Do you ever fight?- (I was going to ask you this …!) After my dad died, I was very angry at my mother. Theirs was not the best marriage: for as long as I can remember, my dad would sit around before bed and drink beer - one after the other. Usually two or three times a week, he would get in moods I can only describe as obnoxious and would fuss or yell depending on the mood for often hours on end. I loved my father - I was a daddy’s girl - but as you can imagine this was hard on my mom. I said all of that to say this: I was very angry because I believe she was glad he was dead. The Christmas before last, I wrote her a letter (which I didn’t give to her) that tried to explain how I felt and it really helped. After that, I was much less angry (although it’s still a little sore spot for me). These days, we are pretty close. I think we have a similar situation: it really irks me when my mom tries to treat me like a child. (For example, she’ll ask, "are you getting sleepy?" If I am, what can she do about it?) Old habits die hard, I guess, especially when your "babies" are still living at home.
how about your sister?- We are very close! She is my best friend. Sometimes we get on each other’s nerves, but it doesn’t last long.
if you had to live the rest of your life wearing either dresses or jeans/pants which would you choose?- dresses (they are so much more comfortable for sitting!)
your boyfriend tells you he has a secret that could very well destroy your relationship. Would you want to know?- yes, because we’re at the point where we can either work through the problem or go our separate ways. It would be harder to part if we were married. And secrets always have a way of coming out! I *so* agree!
what would be the single most devastating thing that could happen in your life right now- If my mom/sister died
what’s your take on abortion? I am pro-life but, I think bombing abortion clinics is totally wrong.
ok, for a million dollars, would you jump into a lake (or a river ) in the middle of winter? (you’re only wearing your bathing suit and you have to stay in the water for at least ten minutes!)- if I don’t catch pneumonia I would!
do you or have you ever have any strange obsessions?- The only thing I can think of right off are guys, particularly David Boreanaz!
If you could take a pill that would eliminate your need for sleep would you take it?- no. I like to sleep. I like to dream.
what was the last cd you bought?- two at the same time: one with classical music, and one with opera (they were $3 each. I bought them because I’d heard that studies show classical music boosts brain-power. I think I need to listen to them more - it doesn’t seem to be working!)
what was the last video you bought- it was a set of three Buffy episodes - the Buffy/Angel chronicles. I’ve watched four of the six episodes - they are faboo!
ok, think about all the sitcoms you have watched. Right off the top of your head can you think of a scene in one of them that you roll on the floor laughing at no matter how many times you watch it?- There is one episode of the British comedy "Keeping Up Appearances." (Do you know about that show? It’s about Hyancith Bucket, who is always trying to be upper class - she even pronounces her last name "Bouquet.") There is a strange man talking incomprehensibly to Hyacinth and her husband who had stopped to ask for directions. He is leaning right into Hyacinth’s car window and very close to her. The camera shows her face while he’s talking, she looks so … funny! It’s hard to describe, but it cracks me up.
do you wear glasses and/or contact lenses?- no.
New Questions! (Note: I’ve realized that we may want to come back to a previous if we think of something to add. I keep thinking of stuff I wanted to include…)
Do you cook? Yes. I like it: for one thing I’m cheap/frugal, and for another, I like to know exactly what’s going in my food!
Do you paint your nails? Toenails, yes. Fingernails, no because it bugs me when they chip the same day that I paint them. I do like the way they look painted, though.
Wear jewelry? Earrings (pierced) usually smaller than a dime and a plain gold chain necklace. No rings, no bracelets. I carry a watch in my purse and wear it when I’m taking a test.
What "weird" things do you do - that you will admit? Not many that I’ll admit!
Okay, when I have a late gig, I sometimes change in the car in a (hopefully) secluded parking spot. Also, at work, I’ll often stand up and step back and forth to loosen up the muscles after sitting for so long.
Who/what do you think is sexy? David Boreanaz (I particularly like the way he looks as the character Angel! Especially when he’s shirtless, wearing leather pants, and/or chained…), Arnold Vosloo (hello? his body!); Sting (his voice and well, his whole persona), Steven Tyler (see note for Sting); Don Henley’s voice; Rob Thomas’s voice; tall, muscular, manly men; guys standing behind me, pressing real close, and whispering in my ear; guys with accents; hockey players (they’re so … aggressive!); when a man kisses the back of my hand; when a man wears a white long-sleeved dress shirt with a tie and dark slacks …. I’m SURE that I will think of more answers to this category and include them later!!
New section! Recommendations! (I like it - as we think of things we can add or leave off categories…)
movie- Beetlejuice (seen it - liked it. Have you seen the cartoon? I loved that!!)
tv show- The Golden Girls (seen it - used to watch it regularly!)
movie- While You Were Sleeping
tv show- Buffy and Angel (I’ll think of something else, but I had to mention these first!
cd- PUMP (Aerosmith)
I totally need to do some work: my boss has given me a busy work/wild good chase project. I swear, sometimes I think that he’s got this computer rigged so that he can see what I’m doing and when I’m goofing off!
That’s it for today. Talk to you later! God bless!
Anne
PS - I’m still looking for a good DAVID posty; in the mean time, I’m attaching one of my favorite pictures of Angel - it’s from a flashback scene so please disregard his hair. Just look at his shoulders! I love the look on his face; I imagine that he’s looking at me and he’s about to come over and do something very wicked to me that I am going to love!!
