Subject: Freaky Friday!
Hello, Michele!
TGIF!!!!! It is SO beautiful outside here today - gorgeous blue sky, sunny, yet with low humidity so it’s very decent temp-wise. This weekend we have an inventory at Fredericks of Hollywood: I’m preparing now to blush! The last time we counted there I saw this pair of -uh- underwear for men; it was like an elephant face where the - uh- "shaft of his being" could be the - uh - elephant’s trunk. I didn’t even watch to touch that - suppose some perv had tried it on?! YUCK!
I am not really a people person either. Like you said, if the other person is friendly to me, I will be also. But if they’re snooty, you just want to smack ‘em! I usually will not speak first to a person - I think this offends our church choir director a bit. (He is very outgoing and cannot understand…) I don’t mean to be rude, I’m just not a run-up-and-hug-everyone’s-neck sort of person (or even a say-hello-first person). Even when I’m sitting next to someone in class or whereever, it’s really tough for me to try to make small talk with most people. I can’t help it - I do not come from a social family.
Really, the best place to send me snail mail would be my work address:
*****
The mail service at our house is TERRIBLE!
No, I haven’t rented the Mummy yet, but I will! I did tell Sara that he is *very* yummy! Re: Sara’s crushes, I believe she still has a crush on the manager where she works (*****). He has a girlfriend that lives with him, and Sara will deny it vehemently, but I think she still likes him just because he’s there and he talks to her. I can’t think of a single celebrity that she has mentioned that she likes since Bon Jovi in the early 90’s. Whenever I mention any of my hotties, she’ll snort, "Oh, please!"
That’s a little cold of your mom to say that you shouldn’t waste time praying for Chaz. (Praying is the best thing you can do for him!) My mom is like that too; she’ll often say, "It’s hard to feel sorry for people that bring stuff on themselves." Not to be holier-than-she, but it’s good that God doesn’t feel that way!
And I understand a bit about how you feel about Chaz. I’ve felt connected to some people that I never went out, and when I thought I wouldn’t be around them anymore, I’d really wonder, "what if I never meet anyone else that I feel this way about?" Once I answered myself, "If I don’t feel at least as good as this about the guy, I simply won’t marry him." (Looking at it now, that doesn’t really answer the question, but I oddly found comfort in it.)
new questions-
do you use one brand of makeup or do you use a little of everything- a little of everything. If I like the color and its on sale- I’ll get it.
do you break out easily?- usually I’ll also have a bumper crop right before my period.
have you known anyone who committed suicide?- yes. Dr. Anderson - the oral surgeon who took out my two left wisdom teeth.
did you ever belong to any clubs or teams in high school?- when I was a senior I joined the volleyball team. I did a lot of bench-warming!
do you tape any tv shows? Yes! Since I’m often busy, I tape just about all of the shows I watch on a regular basis. (Buffy, Angel, Caroline in the City, sometimes Nash Bridges… I also have a LOT of tapes!)
can you wriggle your ears?- no
how bout roll your tongue?- no
what is the worst thing someone could call you?- a cu*$.
what was the worst thing someone has called you?- a pu$$y (It’s like, I’m SO much more than that, you ignorant, jerkified buffoon!!)
how are you when crisis’s occur? Are you a wreck? Pretty calm?- I’d like to think I’m pretty calm. I may have a momentary outburst of "WHAT THE HECK!?!?!??" But it will soon pass and I’ll shift into trying to solve the problem.
**recommendations**
TV show - Are You Being Served? (loved Step By Step)
movie - Charlie’s Angels (loved Back To The Future!)
cd - Repeat Offender/Richard Marx (love Cher but I haven’t heard that album)
funny moment- From Mama’s Family - it’s the one where Naomi wants to have a fancy dinner party for her friends. Mama and the others were supposed to go to the movies, but Mama’s back goes out and she has to lie down in the middle of the living room floor- which really puts a crimp in Naomi’s plans. Later, in the midst of the party, one of the snootier guests is standing there declaring how she doesn’t mind helping Mama in her hour of need (I think that was the general idea) and Mama says, "You’ve got a lot of class for a dame with a rip in her drawers."
NEW QUESTIONS -
Do you eat three meals a day, or do you just nibble as you get hungry? I am pretty much a nibbler - I’ve heard it called "grazing." I’m big into snacking - at work I have a morning snack, lunch, then an afternoon snack. My logic is: I need the calories during the day when I’m more active.
Are you "handy" around the house? I think I’m very handy - someone’s got to be! I can paint, install mini-blinds, change light bulbs, program the VCR, etc. I was installing a paper-towel holder at work, and I was slightly offended when the boss said, "Have you got that? Should I call my son?" I’ve got it, thanks! (Note: I’m not handy with the car. I can check the oil and pump gas - that’s about it!)
What is a moment of crisis that you’ve been through? My sister and I were white-water rafting in North Carolina with a group from our church. We were in a big rubber raft with five other people; Eric was sitting at the back, steering. At one point, the raft went over a large rock and suddenly dropped about five feet. It was quite a jolt, and we were all looking at each other going, "Pshew!" Suddenly I heard, "Help!" I looked around and only saw Eric’s hands, holding on to the raft. I said, "Eric!" and sprawled back to grab his hand. My sister was sitting next to me and she also reached back. The raft was still in some bumpy water, so we couldn’t do anything for a minute but hold on to his hands and keep him in contact with the boat. Finally, the water smoothed out and we got him back in the boat. I’ll point out here that the river we were rafting was not supposed to be that bad - it’s pretty easy as rafting goes, but there are some rough spots, especially with no experienced guide steering the raft.
Have you had your tonsils removed? no
Appendix removed? No, but I used to think that every pain in my side was my appendix about to burst. I was something of a hypochondriac as a child.
If you were at a fast food place and the person next to you asked you for a dollar or two, would you give it to them? I think I would. But if I saw a poor person on the street corner with a "Need Money" sign, I’d probably pass them by like I have before. I want to help, but I always seem to let the moment pass. (Good thing God’s not like that too!)
With that, I’ll close for now. Have a great weekend! God bless!
Anne
